So Infinity is finally upon us, we have had to wait a long time since the sneak peak we had on FCBD in May and reading the Prelude in Avengers I have been quite excited to see what is going to happen.
I decided that it was about time I bought a Skottie Young variant cover so I was glad that there was one for this event and this is why I put a picture of it at the top. This is definitely one of his best variant covers, I like the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four and Thanos Rising ones but decided against buying them. Also He will be doing a signing at my local comic book shop soon so it will be good to get it signed. The normal cover is also brilliant and Thanos is looking pretty mean and villainous, I couldn’t not pick up the normal cover as well as the variant it would be just wrong.
Jim Cheung is a leading artist at Marvel and worked a lot on last years big event Avengers Vs X-Men. His art is of a high standard and he really gives the standard Marvel universe look to this book and there is nothing out of the ordinary. It works well for big events like this as it keeps it consistent and within continuity, I am a big fan of this style of art. My favourite panel was when Black Bolt was suited up he was looking pretty powerful.
I always feel lost when I read a Hickman story but once I give it another read it makes perfect sense and I enjoy it quite a lot. This is exactly what happened in this issue and now I feel like this is going to be a really good event. So the outrider has returned to Thanos with news of Ahl-Agullo with one word “Tribute” and has now been sent to find more secrets from the Inhuman King Black Bolt on Earth. Meanwhile in the Golden Galaxy on the Planet Galador The Spaceknights and Captain Universe are under attack from The Builders and Captain Universe has transported back to The Peak. This is while The Avengers are out fighting Skrulls. No Outrider has snook into Black Bolt’s chamber to uncover his secrets and it turns out the Illuminati possess the infinity gems and are covered with Death, which Thanos will love to find out. Black Bolt kicks outrider out and he escapes back to Thanos. No the Avengers are planning to get to the planet Galador, leaving Iron Man behind which will leave Earth for the taking which is going to be pretty dangerous and exciting.
Really looking forward to part two and some of the tie-ins.
I’m not giving away the codes for the 6 parts but I will give away the codes for the Tie-ins.
